Market Bar Charts

The Market Bar Chart tool allows you to see how a market, sector, or share is performing in relation to the market or a share's individual sector. If you want to find which sectors pay the highest dividends, where the largest director deals have occurred, which shares have the best financial ratios and much more, the Market Bar Charts provide an easy-to-use way of highlighting the relevant information.

How To Use

The first step is to select a data set, eg a sector or market. Choose 'Sector Averages' to see all sectors plotted against one another.

Then select the data type that you want to use (e.g. Share Performance, Growth Ratios, Director Deals, etc).

Next select the specific data point that you want to see in the Heat Map (e.g. if you have already selected Growth Ratios as your data type you can now choose from EPS Growth, Dividend Growth, Turnover Growth, etc).

Finally, choose whether to sort the results by ticker or by data value.

The resulting Market Bar Chart will show the information based on the options you selected in the control panel.

Clicking on an individual bar will allow you drill down further to gain more specific information. If you are viewing all markets, clicking on an indice bar will allow you to display sector averages for all sectors in the indice you have chosen for the data point you are viewing. Clicking on a sector bar will allow you to display company averages for all shares in the sector. Clicking on a company bar will bring you to the individual company page.

There are dozens of data points available to view as a Market Bar Chart, all grouped according to type. The following key data types are available:

So, to find EPS Growth, Turnover Growth, Dividend Growth, etc you would look in the Growth Ratios. To find Price Rise/Fall, Trade Value, Beta, etc you would look in Share Performance. For buy and sell signals, you would look in Technical Analysis, and so on.
